I'm a feminist, yes I said it

'Currently only 24% of women in the United States say that they consider themselves a feminist. Yet when offered a more specific definition of feminism -'A feminist is someone who believes in social, political, and economic equality of the sexes' - the percentage of women who agree rises to 65%.' -Sheryl Sandberg

I know the word feminist is usually seen as an overpowered woman but in reality it's more like an empowered woman who would like equality in society and I'm all up for that. Therefore, I'm declaring myself a feminist for life because I'm sure this battle will take some time to conquer.   I would love for my children or at least grandchildren to be able to experience total equality, looking forward to it!

When looking for a life partner

My advice to women is to date all of them: the bad boys, the cool boys, the commitment-phobic boys, the crazy boys. But do not marry them.... When it comes time to settle down, find someone who wants an equal partner. Someone who thinks women should be smart, opinionated, and ambitious. Someone who values fairness and expects or, even better, wants to do his share in the home. These men exist and, trust me, over time, nothing is sexier.' -Sheryl Sandberg

Couldn't agree more! For all the career driven women this book is a must read. It has opened up my mind to so many different aspects of today's career woman/wife/mother. We have to find a partner who is going to support us in raising a family as well support us in following our career path. Times are changing and we should make an effort to be a part of this change as it is necessary. There is still so much unfairness going on in our society (like women being paid .77 for every mans dollar) & we have it 'good' compared to so many other countries where women aren't even allowed basic rights. Upon first reading this book I felt so angered but now I just want to be part of that change and I would also like you Bella's to join in. Xoxo

Stress can be your friend? Must watch Ted Talk

Check out this amazing TED Talk:

Kelly McGonigal: How to make stress your friend

Found this to be very interesting since like many, I have viewed stress to be a negative thing. Turns out by believing it to be positive you can turn the negative effects of it in your body around. Love Ted talks for this!
